Safeguarding Statement

The NMSM is committed to safeguarding best practice and will:

• Maintain the Management’s role of NMSM Safeguarding Officer, being the custodian of the Society’s Safeguarding Policy and the liaison with every venue’s management team ensuring that the NMSM should use within the spirit of a venue’s Safeguarding Policy
• Respond to all safeguarding concerns and allegations in a timely and appropriate manner
• Support all who report concerns or allegations, and those subject to concerns or allegations, without prejudice
• Ensure that all members who disclose a history which indicates that they may pose, or have posed, a risk of harm to a young person or adult either directly or indirectly are safely included and that appropriate information is provided to venue hosts, where requested
